During disasters, trained volunteers are invaluable to the Red Cross because they can be assigned to help immediately. The Mid-South Chapter is offering the RWTC program to local companies to recruit, train and organize their employees as local disaster volunteers. These innovative partnerships will save lives and make our community safer. RWTC volunteers may be trained in the following areas of disaster operations:
Sheltering
Mass Care and Feeding
Damage Assessment
Spontaneous Volunteer Management
RWTC volunteers who take additional training can also serve as:
Disaster Action Team Members
Family Assistance Caseworkers
Shelter Shift Supervisors
RWTC is a mutually beneficial partnership that –
Associates a company’s name and brand with the American Red Cross, one of the world’s most trusted charitable organizations
Allows companies and employees to give back to their community
Trains employees as Red Cross volunteers and deploys them to provide assistance during times of disaster
Raises awareness and provides resources for individual and family preparedness
